This idea was loosely inspired by a Chinese story called "Dream of a Butterfly." The idea was discarded and reversed, with Erza's present being with the Fairy Tail guild and her past in the tower. As a reference to the old idea, butterflies do appear in her dream of the past.Interesting fact?
