20 Things You Didn't Know About One Piece Villains

From early enemies like Buggy the Clown to more recent foes like Kaido, One Piece has an enormous cast of fascinating villains. With such a complex group of foes, it's impossible to know everything there is to know about them. That means that there's a lot of cool trivia and details to be learned.

What are some things you didn't know about One Piece villains? Here's one: did you know that the original version of Crocodile was going to specialize in asking people riddles? He was even going to have a question mark for a hand! Here's another one: there's an 'adult' explanation that Oda refuses to share behind Donquixote Doflamingo's nickname.

Big Mom Was The Youngest Person To Ever Have A Bounty On Her Head

Big Mom, also known as Charlotte Linlin, has the highest bounty on her head out of any female character in the One Piece world. Currently, her bounty stands at 4,388,000,000 berries.

But the first time she had a bounty put on her, she was only six years old! That makes her the youngest person to ever have a bounty - the second youngest being Nico Robin, whose bounty came when she was eight.

Here's another interesting thing about Big Mom's bounty -  8-8 can be read as ha-ha. 母 (haha) means 'mother.' Clearly, that's on theme.

Buggy's Devil Fruit Has Unexpected Applications

You might not actually want to know this one, since it pertains to Buggy's nether regions.

Still here? When a fan asked if Buggy could also detach his genitals and send them flying along with his other body parts, Oda confirmed that he can. While the shonen series is unlikely to actually depict this happening, word of god says that it's possible.

There's A Reason That Violet Calls Donquixote Doflamingo Doffy

During a Q&A that was published in Volume 83 of the manga, Oda was asked why Violet calls Donquixote 'Doffy' and Donquixote calls Violet 'Viola.' He said that the meaning was 'adult' and he couldn't elaborate on it in a shonen. If you're an adult reader, you can probably imagine what he's talking about.

"Hm, she was dashing against the enemy. There is a deep secret setting I can't tell you about though. I informed the supervisor about it, but since it is a pretty adult part of the story it remains hidden in the shonen manga which One Piece is. To all adults, please try to imagine yourselves. Dressrosa is truly a passionate country!!"

    Bartholomew Kuma Wears Many Hats

Most characters in One Piece stick to one or maybe two different affiliations. Bartholomew Kuma is the only person known to be associated with pirates, the Revolutionary Army, the World Government, and the Seven Warlords of the Sea. Does this man not get tired?
