The Riddler In 'The Batman' Is Based On The Zodiac Killer

The Batman is set to be released in March 2022 with a new take on the Riddler. He will be portrayed by Paul Dano and echo the Zodiac Killer, who terrorized Northern California with murders and ciphers in the late 1960s.
Having lost his powers and supervillain status in a fight with Poison Ivy, the Riddler is revealed to be homeless in the "Riddle Me That" comics storyline.
An ex-NSA codebreaker helps him get back on his feet. Unfortunately, the Riddler does away with his rehabilitator.

He Was Supposed To Be The Main Villain In 'The Dark Knight Rises' And Be Played By Leonardo DiCaprio
Instead of Tom Hardy's Bane, The Dark Knight Rises was supposed to feature DiCaprio's Riddler. That's what studio executives wanted, but Christopher Nolan wanted a completely different villain from previous Batman flicks.
He must have felt that the Riddler was too similar to the Joker.
After coming out of a head trauma-induced coma in Detective Comics #822, the Riddler's wickedness is gone. However, his intellect has survived, making him an expert investigator unencumbered by malice.
