The Wizarding World in the Harry Potter series isn't known for the kind of massive battles that Muggles engage in, although some conflicts are notable enough to be considered a part of magical history. Many of them involved Harry himself at the forefront, with Voldemort or his followers serving as the foes that the heroes fought against. Major battles within the Wizarding World include the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, the Battle of the Tower, the Battle of the Seven Potters, and the Battle of Hogwarts.
Many mainstream fans might not know all of the details of the battles, as they remain hidden within the books. Other facts have been released in the years since the series has ended. It's interesting to note just how much was going on within each of these battles.

The Battle Of Hogwarts Was The First Time House-Elves Openly Combated Wizards
House-elves are inherently more powerful than wizards because they can easily do magic that would take most wizards decades to master. Their centuries-old use as servants made house-elves believe they were inferior to wizards until the Battle of Hogwarts.
Kreacher leads the house-elves that generally serve in the Hogwarts kitchens against the Death Eaters in the name of Regulus Black, who had sacrificed his own life for Kreacher's.
The house-elves' decision to fight wizards is a groundbreaking event since their kind has never dared to revolt before.

The Death Eaters Had Cleared All Security Personnel From The Ministry To Lure Harry Into The Department Of Mysteries
It's hard to believe that Harry and his friends can easily get into the Department of Mysteries without raising any security alarms. In truth, the Death Eaters had beaten the heroes to the Ministry and had subdued all the guards.
Lucius Malfoy has those around the Department of Mysteries placed under the Imperius Curse so that the path for Harry is clear. The lack of security personnel also comes back to bite the Death Eaters because the Order of the Phoenix arrives without any resistance from Ministry officials.

It doesn't appear that way in the film, but the Battle of the Seven Potters was an extended event that lasted more than an entire hour on the night of July 27, 1997. The Dursleys depart at 8:45 pm; the Order of the Phoenix arrives at 9:15 pm.
The party takes on the form of Harry at 9:30 pm and departs Privet Drive, which is when they are attacked by the Death Eaters. Hedwig and Mad-Eye Moody lose their lives within the first 20 minutes of the conflict and Harry encounters Voldemort at 10 pm.
Harry and Hagrid safely arrive at the Burrow at 10:15 pm - the rest of the group continue to engage the Death Eaters for almost another hour until the surviving members reach the Burrow at 11 pm.

A Death Eater Perished From A Brick Wall Conjured By Sirius's Motorbike During The Battle Of The Seven Potters
Sirius Black's motorbike has many enchantments installed within that enable it to evade capture. Among the safeguards on the bike is the ability to conjure a solid brick wall that can be unleashed on pursuers.
During the Battle of the Seven Potters, Harry and Hagrid are pursued by four Death Eaters when Hagrid conjures the brick wall from the bike - the wall hits one of the Death Eaters, who plummets to the ground and perishes from the impact.
