"This Is Where I Leave You" movie quotes tell the story of a family who reunites after their father's death, including one man whose life is currently a mess. In "This Is Where I Leave You," Judd Altman (Jason Bateman) was once happy but recent struggles professionally added with the news that wife Quinn (Abigail Spencer) has been cheating on him with his former boss Wade (Dax Shepard) have sent him into a depression. This is only complicated when he learns that his father has passed away.
When Judd returns home to attend his father's funeral, he learns from mother Hillary (Jane Fonda) that he and his three siblings, Wendy (Tina Fey), Paul (Corey Stoll) and Phillip (Adam Driver), will be spending the next seven days sitting shiva together, whether they like it or not. All is not lost, however, as time with his family, plus his reunion with former love Penny (Rose Byrne) might just be what Judd needs to break out of his funk."This is Where I Leave You" has some stiff competition at the box office opening alongside the likes of "The Maze Runner," "Dolphin Tale 2," "No Good Deed," "The Skeleton Twins," "The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby," "The Drop," "The Identical," "Frontera," "The Longest Week," "The November Man," "The Congress," "Life of Crime," "Starred Up," "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For," "If I Stay," "When the Game Stands Tall," "Are You Here," "The Expendables 3," "Let's Be Cops."
Judd Altman: "Hello"
Wendy Altman: "I imagine by now you are well into the excessive facial hair phase of your depression."
Judd Altman: "This is not a good time, Wendy."
Wendy Altman: "Dad's dead."
Judd Altman: "What? How's mom?"
Wendy Altman: "She's mom, you know. She asked me how much to tip the nurses."
You've Got Bionic Breasts Now
Judd Altman: "Whoops, we've come apart there, mom. Close that robe."
Hillary Altman: "They're just breasts, Judd, same ones you suckled at."
Judd Altman: "No, mother, those are not the same breasts you nursed us with. You've got bionic breasts now."
She Slept with My Boss
Penny: "Judd Altman, oh my god!"
Judd Altman: "Is that Penny?"
Penny: "I'm so sorry about your dad. I should have come today. I'm so sorry. I just have a thing with funerals. I'm always afraid I'm going to start laughing or bawling or say something horrifically inappropriate so I just don't go which is not a solution but there you have it. Anyway, what's it been, seven, eight, nine years?"
Judd Altman: "Something like that, yeah"
Penny: "Horry said you came alone. What happened to Quinn? You guys didn't split up, did you?"
Judd Altman: "Uh uh, that's a freak accident on an elliptical."
Penny: "Oh, I'm sorry, I don't know what I'm saying. It's these god damn anti-depressants I'm on. You know, they just obliterate whatever filter I have. That's very embarrassing."
Judd Altman: "She left me."
Penny: "I knew it! I totally knew that! I mean, I'm sorry."
Judd Altman: "She slept with my boss. So…"
Penny: "Well that will do it!"
Judd Altman: "Yes, it did."
Judd Altman: "Right"
Clearly She Lost More Than a Husband
Hillary Altman: "We made love on our first date."
Judd Altman: "Mom"
Hillary Altman: "I don't mind telling you. The man was hung."
Wendy Altman: "That should have been the headstone."
Judd Altman: "Clearly she lost more than a husband."
