Jordan Matthews Beat His Girlfriend To Death After Believing He Saw A Tinder Notification On Her Phone
23-year-old Jordan Matthews from Cardiff, United Kingdom was dating 24-year-old Xixi Bi. In August 2017, the couple was spending time together when Matthews saw what he believed to be a notification from a man named Ben from Tinder on Bi's phone. Matthews went into a rage over the message, and the two began to argue. The argument turned to physical violence when Matthews started beating Bi, breaking her jaw and several ribs. The savage attack resulted in Bi's death.
Matthews was arrested, and during his trial, it was revealed that he was physically and verbally abusive throughout the relationship. Investigators would later discover that Bi didn't even have the Tinder app on her phone. Matthews received an 18-year prison sentence for his crimes.
Emile Cilliers Tried To Murder His Wife So He Could Move On With His Tinder Lover
37-year-old British army sergeant Emile Cilliers allegedly tried to kill his wife Victoria not once, but twice in 2015. Cilliers was apparently in a considerable amount of debt and had taken out a sizeable life insurance policy on his wife, upwards of $160,000. Cilliers apparently had begun a relationship with a woman he met on Tinder, Stefanie Goller, and when he was unable to leave Cilliers for Goller, he planned his wife's murder.
One night in 2015, Cilliers caused a gas leak in the couple's home and then left 40-year-old Victoria in the house while he went to stay somewhere else. When the gas leak scheme failed, Cilliers suggested his wife go parachuting, and when she agreed, he allegedly tampered with the parachute. After Victoria's chutes failed after jumping 4,000 feet Wiltshire, England, she sustained many severe injuries including a broken collarbone, broken ribs, and a spinal injury. Ironically enough, after the gas leak, Victoria texted her husband and jokingly asked if he was trying to kill her. Cilliers's murder trial is ongoing.
Alexander Villaluna Stabbed His Ex's Tinder Date To Death
40-year-old Jovi Pilapil of Sydney, Austrailia, had just gotten separated from her abusive husband six months previous, when she decided to give dating a try. She met 53-year-old Keith Collins on Tinder and the pair set up a date at a local restaurant. On March 30, 2017, the couple dined at Hornsby Westfield's Kangnam BBQ. Pilapil's ex-husband was known to be stalking his former wife and was able to track down her location. 46-year-old Alexander Villaluna showed up at the restaurant and asked Collins what he was doing with his wife before brutally stabbing the man to death.
Villaluna then set his sights on Pilapil, who was also stabbed several times, but she survived the ordeal. After the stabbings, Villaluna calmly walked out of the restaurant. Villaluna was subsequently arrested and found guilty. He will serve at least 30 years in jail.
Alana Rose Jones Knifed Down Her Tinder Date When She Found Out He Had A Girlfriend
In February 2015, 26-year-old Alana Rose Jones from Brisbane, Austrailia had matched with a man on Tinder. The two met up and went bar hopping, and later to Jones's house. Once there, Jones's date passed out, and he received a text message on his phone from his girlfriend asking where he was. Jones saw the text and decided to give the woman a call. She informed the girlfriend that she and the woman's boyfriend had just slept together. When the man woke up, Jones, in a rage, grabbed a kitchen knife and began slashing the man, telling him to get out of her home. After the man left, Jones called the police telling them she had just stabbed a man who tried to attack her.
The man survived his injuries, and Jones was arrested. She avoided jail time by pleading guilty to assault charges.
