Another "technique" that has worked for me is to simply lay flat and DON'T MOVE. Then, after a minute or two, I imagine all of my body parts and focus on how heavy they are, how they stay in the same place. This way I perceive it like the limbs are falling asleep one after another. Then I just try not to move.
