Vote up the coolest fun facts about character chameleon.
In the 20 years since he made his debut, Tom Hardy has set himself apart from the Hollywood pack thanks to his commitment to a character and his dedication to his craft. Much like A-lister, Oscar winner, and his personal hero Gary Oldman, Hardy has the ability to lose himself in a role, creating characters so unique that it is difficult to distinguish the actor from one role to the next. From Batman nemesis Bane to man having a bromance with an alien symbiote in the Venom franchise, Hardy made a name for himself as an on-screen chameleon.
Here are a few fascinating tidbits about Hardy's movies and roles. Vote up the most compelling bits of info about the top-tier actor. Â
In Venom (2018), Tom Hardy improvised the funny moment where Eddie Brock climbs into the lobster tank. It originally wasn’t in the script, but when he saw the tank on set, he told the director that he wanted to include it in the scene.
In Venom (2018), the symbiote tells Eddie that he wants to eat chocolate before biting (and likely eating) the head off of the mugger. This is a nod to the comics: the symbiote requires a sufficient amount of phenethylamine to sustain itself, which is found in either chocolate or the human brain.
Tom Hardy impressed the real Charles Bronson so much with his preparations for his role as him in the Bronson movie that Charles shaved off his trademark mustache so that Tom could wear it as a loose mustache in the movie.
A big event today: I chopped off the most infamous tash in the UK, if not Europe – maybe the world. Yeah, my mustache has gone and it’s going to end up going through Tom Hardy’s letter box. Maybe the make-up artists on set can stick it on his top lip. If not, Tom can stick it in his pocket for luck. Then at least part of me will be on the film set!
Tom Hardy, as well as Jimmy Fallon, Simon Pegg, Dominic Cooper, James McAvoy, and Michael Fassbender were all in Band of Brothers before making it big.
He also kept the movie "center framed" so that no matter how many cuts you put in you eye would always be looking at the same spot. It allowed him to do quicker cuts without seeming jumpy.
