It's Just Refreshing To See
Not gonna lie I know to a lot of people it’s probably stupid and minor but seeing pads and menstruation be brought up so casually and not be a complete punchline or a negative in turning red was so refreshing to see and honestly made me pretty emotional pic.twitter.com/XJsRrJJMZH
The way I sobbed when I saw the pads in #TurningRed. Women are so often reduced to smaller versions of themselves, either sexualized or non-existent. To see a film list out different kinds of hygiene products with such normalcy was moving. pic.twitter.com/XYRcnRBDJK
just watched turning red and i'm confused bc people are mad that the film is a metaphor for growing up / puberty, despite the films plot is literally criticising parents who protect their kids so much to the point of where it stops them growing up
I’d like to thank whoever did this. It’s such a little gesture , mostly unnoticed by the most, but it’s literally the first time ever I’ve seen someone with a diabetes patch, let alone in a cartoon. This is so important, thank you. #TurningRedpic.twitter.com/cUZ7MBSIe0
