List Rules Vote up the best shows appropriate for a tween to watch.

Finding the best TV shows for tweens to watch can be tricky. Sure they're almost teens (almost) and want to watch something other than "kid stuff" but that doesn't mean they're necessarily ready for more complicated themes. If you’ve been looking for good shows for tweens, this list of the best television shows appropriate for kids who are 8 to 12 years old will help find the right balance of fun to watch, age-appropriate and educational shows for tweens.

Every kid is different and just because a kid is officially a tween doesn’t mean they are ready yet to watch the same shows as older teens. The best shows for tweens to watch find a balance between complex and fun, stretching and expanding their world without offering too much too soon. This includes everything from sitcoms like Andi Mack and Speechless to sci-fi series such as Doctor Who and Star Trek: The Next Generation. Educational shows for tweens sometimes even include talent-based reality shows, thanks to kid versions of talent-based reality series such as MasterChef Jr. which is full of info a budding chef will want to learn. There are also plenty of classically educational shows like Project MC2 or Mythbusters, that this age group will love.

Which television shows are the best for tweens to watch? Vote up the best shows for tweens and add any good TV series for 8 to 12-year-old kids that are missing.
