Ever since the first fighter stepped into a ring to take on another in a highly televised fight, people have been trashing one another. It's all part of the process, and if there's one fighter who seems to do it better than the rest, it's Conor McGregor. The man has no qualms about talking trash about his opponents up to and after a match, which has led to numerous rivalries.

Some rivalries may be real, and others could be all about showmanship, but it's fair to say, more than a few fighters have been insulted by the guy over the years. Whether Conor McGregors beefs with his rivals are real or not, he's got more than enough for any one person, and these are the most important. Check them out below, and be sure to vote up your favorite rivalries between Conor McGregor and whoever he had a problem with at one time or another.

  • Dana White is the man behind the UFC, so McGregor has had a pretty long relationship with the man, as have other fighters in the sport. Of course, it's mostly a business relationship, and those tend to sour every once in a while. For McGregor, 2020 was a relatively inactive year, and that was largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but White had something to do with it as well.

The pair's rivalry became apparent when McGregor Tweeted that White should "stop lying" about his inaction during 2020. He then released several Instagram messages between the two, showing that McGregor wanted three fights in 2020. Still, disagreements with White and the UFC led the fighter to declare he was retiring from the organization.

When asked about the feud, White told reporters at UFC 253 that "This is some man-code stuff. It's just something you don't do. It's one of the dirtiest things you can do [referring to the posting of their messages]." Conversely, McGregor stated White was the one who violated the man code. Regardless, McGregor was under contract, which kept him from fighting Manny Pacquiao. He returned to the Octagon in January 2021 to fight Dustin Poirier at UFC 257.

    A great McGregor rival?
  • Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier's feud has been going on for a long time, but it's always been somewhat respectful on both sides. Sure, there's plenty of trash talk and bravado, but things got pushed up a notch shortly before the pair engaged in their second fight.

Before heading into their second fight, each fighter had one victory over the other. About a month before their match, Poirier called out McGregor in public for "ghosting" him and failing to deliver a promised $500,000 donation to his Good Fight Foundation. That donation secured Poirier's agreement to a trilogy fight, so a lot was hanging on that money.

McGregor didn't like being called out publicly, and he unleashed a torrent of abuse on Twitter, writing, "You're ripped, you inbred hillbilly. Why do you wink with your ears? You f**king brain dead hillbilly. 500k with no plan in place. Ye hang tight. Fool. You must be new to money. 'The fight is off btw. I'm going to fight someone else on the 10th. Good luck on your old contract, kid.'"

Ultimately, McGregor relented, and their second match went as planned In January 2021. McGregor lost via TKO for punches in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Of all Conor McGregor's rivalries (and there are many), none has been as bitter and damaging as the one he has with Khabib Nurmagomedov. The two have been going at one another for years, and it all came to a head in 2018. While most of their bravado and trash talk was meant to drum up attention for their fights, things took a turn when, in April 2018, McGregor attacked a bus Nurmagomedov was riding.

McGregor was arrested for this and was charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief. He was also charged with menacing and reckless endangerment at his arraignment. He eventually pleaded "no contest" and walked away with five days of community service and a requirement to attend anger management classes.

Still, that wasn't the biggest problem between the two fighters. After the fight at UFC 229, Nurmagomedov jumped the cage and charged McGregor's training partner. A proper fight broke out, and the Nevada State Athletic Commission came down hard on the fighters. Formal complaints followed, and money was withheld. Additionally, McGregor was suspended for six months.

    Nate Diaz

McGregor's rivalry with Nate Diaz is different from the others on this list, as it is surrounded by mutual respect. Initially, McGregor was set to fight Rafael dos Anjos in March 2016 for the Lightweight belt, but a foot injury demanded a replacement. With only 11 days to go, Nate Diaz stepped up to take on McGregor, and the pre-fight barbs were already being flung. That fight ended with a Diaz victory and McGregor walked away somewhat humbled.

He demanded a rematch, and the pre-fight trash talk was back for a good few months. They met once more in the Octagon, but this time, McGregor managed to nab the victory. Unlike other rivals of McGregor's, the two put their trash talk aside and went their separate ways. Diaz even came to McGregor's defense when Jake Paul issued a tirade of insults his way, goading him into a fight. While they may have begun as rivals, it seems they see each other for the professional fighters they are.

That said, they have traded a few insults with one another online as recently as March 2021, so there could be a tie-breaker in their future... At least, that's something the fans are certainly hoping for, even if it doesn't look like it's going to happen.
