The best anime of 2020 includes sequels to beloved shows like That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Haikyuu!!, Attack on Titan, Fruits Basket, The Promised Neverland, and more. But there are also brand new shows that look promising, like the upcoming anime adaptation of Junji Ito's horror manga, Uzumaki.
What shows are you hyped for?
That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime is one of the most popular isekai anime out there, so it's awesome that it's getting a sequel. The series will continue the adventures of Rimuru Tempest, a former corporate employee who was reincarnated into an extremely powerful slime monster who creates peace and happiness for monsters everywhere.
Everyone in the world of Plunderer is branded with a number. The number can refer to anything from "number of compliments given" to "number of miles you've walked." The numbers drop as time passes, and when your number reaches zero, your life may be at risk. Hina's mother, whose count has dropped to zero, left her with a quest to find the Legendary Red Baron. On her way, she meets a swordsman named Licht whose count is quite low, and has a bad reputation because of it. What adventures will the two of them get into?
The Promised Neverland will continue in 2020, and it looks poised to be just as emotionally intense as the first one. While the first season followed a group of children discovering that their peaceful orphanage is actually a human farm, the second season will follow their adventures into the terrifying world outside the orphanage.
