Cyberpunk 2077 is an cyberpunk action role-playing video game developed and published by CD Projekt. The game was released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2020 and for PlayStation 5 and Xbox X/S in 2022. Adapted from the tabletop game Cyberpunk 2020, it is set fifty-seven years later in dystopian Night City, California, an open world with six distinct regions. In a first-person perspective, players assume the role of the customizable mercenary V, who can apply experience points to stat upgrades to reach prominence in the character classes NetRunner, Techie, and Solo.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is an action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix. The game is a remake of the 1997 PlayStation game Final Fantasy VII. Square Enix developed the remake as a multi-part series, with the first entry released for the PlayStation 4 on April 10, 2020, with timed exclusivity for one year. An enhanced version for the PlayStation 5, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, was released in June 10, 2021. First announced at E3 2018, The Elder Scrolls VI is an upcoming role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Though release dates haven't been set, early estimates point to late 2020.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is presented mainly from the first-person perspective, alternating to third-person for contextual activities such as specific attacks. Before the game begins, players create a vampire character, and can select a character background that informs who they were as a human, such as a barista (the default background, with no bonuses), career criminal, coroner, or a police officer, with each offering different dialog and interaction options with the game world.
This single-player science-fiction game is developed by Bethesda Game Studios and is set to be released sometime in 2020. Designed as an outer space RPG, details are still forthcoming.
Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is an upcoming RPG from Bandai Namco for the PlayStation4, Xbox One, and PC. It's based off the Sword Art Online anime series and takes place in a recreated virtual world.
