"Warm Bodies" movie quotes tell the tale of what happens when one young lady falls in love with a zombie after an apocalypse. The romantic comedy was directed and adapted into a screenplay by Jonathan Levine after the book of the same name written by Isaac Marion. "Warm Bodies" was released on February 1, 2013, in the United States.
In "Warm Bodies," viewers are introduced to zombie R (Nicholas Hoult), who also serves as a narrator since zombies have trouble talking. He can't remember his name, also typical in zombie life, and spends most of his days wandering an airport, grunting, spending time with his best friend M (Rob Corddry) and eating humans. That however all changes when he meets Julie (Teresa Palmer) when she and friends (Analeigh Tipton and Dave Franco) are sent to the city to recover medical supplies for the remaining humans.
R falls in love with Julie instantly but interacting with her is difficult, not to mention the whole zombies eat humans aspect. But after rescuing her from fellow zombies, R and Julie begin to develop a relationship. Much to the displeasure of Julie's father (John Malkovich), Julie continues to see R and witnesses what she believes is him returning to human form, something that is rubbing off on the other corpses as well.
Julie: "Dad, he saved my life. I don't understand but he's changing and he feels and he's learning to be human again."
Julie tries to explain the weird happenings she sees with R to her father but he isn't trying to hear that. If you thought getting a father's approval for a daughter's boyfriend was hard, try it when that boy is part of the undead.
Nora: "Did you hear that?"
Julie: "I did. We should bail."
Perry: "Hey, we can't just bail. We have orders. Any idea how much medicine the city goes through in a month? We need a pharma salvage to survive…"
Julie: "Yeah, you sound just like my dad."
Perry: "Thank you"
Julie: "It wasn't a compliment."
Nora: "Oh here, guys. Take some Prozac. Maybe that will cheer you up… I told you I heard something."
Julie: "Perry!"
Perry: "We have orders, Jules. It was nothing anyway. You're being paranoid, okay?"
Sure, Perry, chalk up those noises everyone hears to the girls just being paranoid. See how well that works out for you when the zombies come to eat you first. Good luck with that.
R: "Be dead"
[Julie overacts like a zombie]
R: "Too much"
Trying to save her from the incoming group of corpses, R tells Julie to act dead to fit in. Julie however goes a little overboard with the performance.
R: "What am I doing with my life? I'm so pale. I should get out more. I should eat better. My posture's horrible. I should stand up straighter. People would respect me more if I stood up straighter. What's wrong with me? I just want to connect. Why can't I connect with people? Oh, right, it's cause I'm dead. I shouldn't be so hard on myself, I mean, we're all dead. This girl's dead. That guy's dead. That guy in the corner is definitely dead. These guys look awful. I wish I could introduce myself but I don't remember my name anymore. I mean, think it started with an R but that's all I have left. I can't remember my name or my parents or my job. Although my hoodie would suggest I was unemployed. Sometimes I look at the others and try to imagine what they were. You were a janitor. You were the rich son of a corporate CEO. You were a personal trainer and now you're a corpse. I have a hard time piecing together how this whole apocalypse thing happened. Could have been chemical warfare, or airborne virus or a radioactive outbreak monkey but it doesn't matter. This is what we are now. This is a typical day for me. I shuffle around, occasionally bumping into people, unable to apologize or say much of anything. It must have been so much better before when everyone could express themselves, communicate their feelings and just enjoy each other's company. A lot of us have made our home here at this airport. I don't know why. People wait at airports, I guess, but I'm not sure what we're all waiting for. Oh man, they call these guys bonies. They don't bother us much but they'll eat anything with a heartbeat. I mean, I will too but at least I'm conflicted about it. We all become them someday. At some point you just give up I guess. You lose hope. After that there's no turning back. Oh man, gross, don't pick at it. You're making it worse. This is what I have to look forward to. It's kind of a bummer. I don't want to be this way. I'm lonely. I'm lost. Wait, I'm literally lost. I've never been in this part of the airport before. This is my best friend. By best friend I mean we occasionally grunt and stare awkwardly at each other. We even have almost conversations sometimes. Days pass this way but sometimes we even find actual words, words like 'hungry' and 'city.'"
R describes his daily life as a corpse. Like other zombies he spends his days wandering slowly around an airport. At least he has a friend. Poor R.
General Grigio: "This is a corpse affected by the plague. It is uncaring, unfeeling. Corpses do not think. They do not bleed. They are incapable of remorse."
General Grigio warns the humans in the city of the corpses and their dangers. His interest with the zombies goes from being cautious to obsessive real fast.
