The wealthiest rapper CEOs and entrepreneurs represent the highest level of the elite in the rap world. These rappers not only top the charts with best-selling singles but also rank atop the richest lists for their massive wealth earned from music and other businesses. Hundreds of mainstream rappers, hip hop artists, and producers will try to get their name on lists like this but only a select few will reach this level of success.

Not surprisingly, the top names on this list are the rappers who have been around for several decades both as musicians and entrepreneurs including some of the best rappers of the '90s and the best rappers of the '00s. Sean Combs, also known as Diddy or P. Diddy or Puff Daddy, ranks at the top with an estimated net worth of $500 million according to Forbes Magazine. The Bad Boy mogul rose to fame as a rapper before successful ventures into fashion, restaurants, film and television made him the richest person on this list.

Not far behind is Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter), a rapper and entrepreneur with a similar journey, comes in at $450 million in net worth. With his work in music (including highly successful collaborations with the likes of Kanye West and wife Beyonce), Rocawear clothing line, 40/40 Club, Def Jam Records, ownership of the New Jersey Nets in the NBA and many other ventures, Jay gives Diddy the best run for his money in the game today.

Just as these two rappers compete with each others for the top spot, there are hundreds if not thousands of other mainstream rappers that aspire to follow in their shoes. Which up and coming rapper has the best chance at becoming the next best thing in rap? Tell us who you think will be the Jay-Z or Diddy of the next generation of rap by adding a comment below!
