Whether it's John McClane in Nakatomi Plaza or Neo in the Matrix, our favorite action heroes are nothing without the punches, gunfire, and explosions that help them save the day. Many of the finer details about these weapon and combat elements are harder to spot than you'd think but thankfully fans online have targeted many of them for us. For example, in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, the eponymous one-man army swims away from gunfire, knowing that the bullets have a very short range underwater. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain America catching Thor's hammer Mjolnir is one of the most iconic moments in the Avengers saga. You may not have noticed, however, that Cap braces the impact with a curled arm, as opposed to his Asgardian counteract, who doesn't even bend his elbow. There are even details that create historical context. In Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Indy avoids getting cut in half by praying like a Christian. The trap, though, has an extra blade that would kill a person bowing in Muslim prayer.

Indiana Jones Avoids A "Praying Blade" In 'The Last Crusade'
In Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Indy kneels to avoid a blade from the wall since “only the penitent man will pass.” However, a second blade comes from the floor to kill anyone who knelt and bowed forward, as would a Muslim, whom the crusader guarding the Grail would’ve been fighting.

Bond Turns On The Safety Before Surrendering His Gun In 'Casino Royale'
In John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, John Wick and an enemy fall into a pool and Wick immediately moves roughly three feet away just before being fired upon. At this distance the bullets are rendered ineffective which is consistent with how a typical pistol round behaves underwater.

Bruce Studies Clark's Fighting Techniques In 'Batman v Superman'
In Batman v Superman, Bruce easily blocks Clark’s hooks and uppercuts. Earlier in the film, Bruce can be seen in the Batcave watching footage captured during Superman’s fight with Zod from Man of Steel. Clark’s patterns (right hook, left sucker, right uppercut) had been memorized by Bruce.
