Vote up the weirdest things Nic Cage has actually purchased with his hard-earned cash money.
While he's an actor well-known for his over the top performances, the weird things Nicolas Cage bought over the years manage to be even more out there than he is. His insane career includes cult classics like Vampire’s Kiss, high-profile Hollywood hits like National Treasure, his own Marvel films, and a David Lynch film. But what a lot of people don’t know about Nic Cage, is that his impulse shopping habit is very much out of control. The weirdest things Nicolas Cage owns could make even the wackiest eccentric millionaire blush. Of course, this habit led to his going pretty much broke, but how are you supposed to NOT buy a shrunken head?
Of course, Nic Cage doesn't just go for designer watches or the latest in gadgets. There’s refined taste and then there’s the kind of taste that makes you ask a guy, “Where did you even find that?” Our boy has the second one down. If he’s spending millions on something, you know it’s probably ridiculous. Some of the strange and funny things Nicolas Cage purchased are haunted, deadly, and/or stolen from Mongolia.
While people often get understandably angry at the super rich for blowing millions on ridiculous things while everybody else struggles, many of these weird Nicolas Cage purchases are so insane that he obviously has one wacky shopping addiction, and it’s kind of hard to be mad at him for that.
According to those who have visited one of Nicolas Cage's many homes, he is an avid collector. His various collections just happen to include a number of shrunken heads. No one is sure if they were illegally imported human remains or not.
In 2007 Nicolas Cage beat out Leonardo DiCaprio at a natural history-themed luxury auction in Manhattan, winning a Tyrannosaurus bataar skull for a cool $276,000. It turned out, however, that this dinosaur skull was stolen from the Gobi Desert in Mongolia and illegally sold in the United State. After being contacted by Homeland Security in 2014, Cage agreed to let Mongolia have their national treasure back.
in 2007 Nicolas Cage bought the infamously haunted New Orleans mansion previously owned by Madame LaLaurie, who was famous for torturing and killing her slaves. It was listed for $3.9 million in '09 after Nic Cage ran away from New Orleans screaming into the night. Why did he buy this death mansion? He hoped to write a horror novel there, but never got around to it.
In New Orleans, there's a spooky looking 9-foot-tall pyramid tomb that has the words "Omni Ab Uno" engraved on the front. This is Latin for "Everything from One." Nicolas Cage bought the tomb for himself for his 50th birthday in 2010, and plans to be buried there.
Nicolas Cage bought a pair of incredibly deadly albino king cobras. It has been said that he had a sort of zoo at his house, which included a number of exotic and dangerous animals and purebred dogs. Cage even kept antidote serum on the wall, incase anyone was bitten by his venomous pet snakes.
Not only did Cage buy a pet octopus - not exactly the most common of household pets - he said it served a higher purpose. The eight-legged sea creature apparently brought Nic Cage luck and boosted his acting abilities. Whether this was before or after Ghost Rider is unknown.
