The Fellowship's epic journey across Middle Earth in The Lord of the Rings franchise is mired with peril-- treacherous terrains, twisting pathways, and devious tricksters find them at every turn. The biggest hurdles they face, however, are the fights along the way. Because of this, it's no wonder that fans have spotted some incredible details about the weapons and combat in LOTR. In Fellowhip of the Ring, for example, if you look closely you can spot the axe that Gimli will pick up and carry for the rest of the film while traversing the Mines of Moria. When charging the Black Gate in The Return of the King, a chorus sings the phrase "you have my sword" in Sindarin, which Aragorn says to Frodo in the first installment. Some of these details actually contain cameos! In The Two Towers, director Peter Jackson can be seen weilding a spear at Helm's Deep.
