How many times a week do you find yourself wondering, "What have the kids from Harry Potter been up to?" Well, it's time to scratch some of that itch and explore Rupert Grint's career since Harry Potter. The famous redhead has actually had quite a robust career since his run in the multi-billion dollar franchise came to an end. In fact, he even had his fair share of work in the muggle world during the course of his 11-year run as Ron Weasley. Grint's roles have been pretty diverse.

While Rupert Grint's movies haven't always received great acclaim, he has been lauded for his acting chops, even when the projects as a whole failed to shine. Then there's his very full life out of the spotlight, which includes ice cream truck and micro pig ownership, and blending into crowds at music festivals. He's actually keeps a rather low profile in his personal life, allowing him to avoid some of the strange fan moments his Harry Potter cast mates randomly encounter.

Here's what Rupert Grint's life outside of Harry Potter has looked like ever since he braved the Deathly Hallows once and for all. Try not to be too jealous.

In a 2017 interview with EW, Rupert Grint revealed that he seriously considered quitting his acting profession after Harry Potter, noting:

“We had such an intimate and intense few years in this bubble. When I started, [acting] was never something that I aspired to do. I did acting with school plays and stuff like that. But it was never something that I actively dreamed of. I mean, I fell in love with it while I was doing it. But I definitely did think, ‘Is this really what I want to do?’ I wanted to live a little bit. I felt like I’d missed out on a lot. Being in that adult environment from such an early age, it was nice to just be away from it and not have any kind of commitments at all, and just be a bit free.”

It's hard to blame Grint for feeling the way he did. No one's feeling sorry for him for growing up rich and famous but to basically have your future determined at the age of 11 would be hard for anybody. Fortunately, he had the means to take a break and realize it was a career he would indeed like to pursue.

One might assume that the child actor would have focused on the single franchise he starred in, but Rupert Grint was, indeed, acting in other projects over the course of his 11-year run as Ronald Weasley. In 2002, Grint starred in his first movie outside of J. K. Rowling's universe in a movie called Thunderpants. He played the best friend whose propensity for flatulence left him little options in terms of companionship. Fortunately, Grint's character had no sense of smell.

His next movie beyond the grounds of Hogwarts was a 2006 dramedy, Driving Lessons, for which Grint receive positive reviews. Two of his other films, Cherrybomb and Wild Target,  both struggled to make their money back, but Grint profitted significantly and he, again, received praise for his performances.

In a 2010 appearance on LIVE! with Regis and Kelly, while promoting the release of The Deathly Hallows: Part I, Rupert Grint revealed some interesting tidbits. When asked by Regis what he receives from fans, Grint replied, "Mostly pajamas."

Apparently, Rupert receives PJs from fans all over the world and he's not entirely sure why. Perhaps it's because he's often been shown in the Gryffindor dorms wearing his nightclothes on screen. Whatever the case, he's not complaining. His favorite pair are some silky PJs, a gift set from a Japanese HP lover.

In the same interview with Regis and Kelly, Rupert Grint was asked about his most lavish purchase. His response? An ice cream truck. Grint may not have the loftiest desires but you can't deny that he has good taste. The actor even treated his Harry Potter co-stars to frozen treats one day when he brought the truck to celebrate their final day of shooting. That's a sign of a mighty fine co-worker.
