Did you get caught telling an innocent white lie or a big fat whopper? Why'd ya do it? It's too late now, so check out this list of things to do (or maybe not do) when you're caught in a corner or need to pull your foot out of your mouth and admit your mistake. We all have our reasons for lying at times, but the best thing to do if you're busted, which let's face it, you probably will be, is apologize and explain yourself. Hopefully your friend, family member, boss, or lover will show you mercy and forgive you.
Let this list help you out of your own web of lies! Some of these items are things you should do when you're caught in a lie and some of them are... maybe less helpful. If you have to ask which ones are which, good luck to you! Although, maybe the government really did make you do it!Next time you feel the urge to stretch the truth, twist it, or just plainly disregard it, remember that it can be hard to keep track of all your lies and if you do get caught, it takes a long time to rebuild trust. The best way to avoid getting caught lying is to tell the truth instead.
