What to Watch If You Love Peaky Blinders

The BBC's Peaky Blinders was an innovative gangster/crime series centered around a crime family in Birmingham, England shortly after World War I. The series combined the outstanding acting talents of Cillian Murphy, Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Sam Neil and others with the brilliant writing of Steven Knight who also created the series. Good gangster television is hard to find, but fortunately, there are some options should you feel a void after watching all three seasons of Peaky Blinders.

On the cinematic side of things, there are films like The Godfather trilogy and Michael Collins, but over on the small screen, series like Boardwalk Empire may suffice. This historical drama series takes place in the same time-period, but covers the growing criminal organizations sprouting up following the prohibition of alcohol in the United States.     '71 is a 2014 British historical action film set in Northern Ireland written by Gregory Burke and directed by Yann Demange.
