Which MCU Hero Would Win In An All-Out Battle?

List RulesVote up the characters you know would totally dominate.

The internet is rife with breakdowns of all the many battles of the Marvel Cinematic Universe thus far, but even the sprawling action of Avengers: Endgame didn’t fully answer the question on everyone’s mind as they smash action figures together in the playground - which MCU character would win in an all-out fight for cinematic supremacy? It’s a query that has a lot of layers to it, and it’s not quite as simple as determining who is truly the “strongest Avenger,” though strength obviously has a good deal to do with it.

A good rule of thumb in comic books is that any character can beat any other character at any given moment, provided the fight is occurring in said character’s own title. In other words, even Hawkeye can take down anyone he wants - so long as he does so in a Hawkeye comic. It’s a little more complicated than that when it comes to the movies, but it’s a good testament to just how resourceful superheroes can be - and why it’s not wise to count any of them out in a battle royale.

His Fighting Style: Thor has been around for 1,500 years, but he’s never developed much of a style beyond that of a brawler. He punches things and throws his hammer at them, and sometimes he punches things with his hammer.

Signature Weapon: Stormbreaker is nice and all, but nothing compares to an enraged thunder god channeling the entire might of Asgard through Mjolnir. The God of Hammers, indeed.

Greatest MCU Battle Moment: Actually gaining the edge on the Hulk in Sakaar’s Contest of Champions - until the Grandmaster cheated to ensure his defeat, it sure looked like Thor was going to win.

How He Could Get The Upper Hand: Thor’s a two-in-one package, and so he and Mjolnir will have any one opponent outnumbered. By working in concert with his magic mallet, Thor could prove difficult to deal with tactically - and he’s more than strong enough to overpower just about anyone from there.

Her Fighting Style: Wanda Maximoff isn’t much of a hand-to-hand fighter, but she’s gained mastery over her ambiguous and potentially limitless energy powers - and that’s often more than enough.

Signature Weapon: The Scarlet Witch lives up to her name when she uses her opponent’s own outer shell to slowly and painfully crush them within.

Greatest MCU Battle Moment: Nearly taking out Thanos is impressive, but holding him and five Infinity Stones off while simultaneously destroying the sixth is her true watershed moment.

How She Could Get The Upper Hand: If Wanda gets angry enough to fully unleash her powers, there’s really no telling what she could do. We’ve seen her use her “Hex Bolts” to compress her enemies - but could she also tear them apart?

His Fighting Style: Stephen Strange doesn’t hesitate to break out every spell in the book if he thinks it will give him an advantage - but he has a particular affinity for those incantations that resemble traditional weapons, like whips and shields.

Signature Weapon: The Crimson Bands of Cyttorak are more than capable of restraining any being in the universe, and they’re even better when combined with the Images of Ikkon.

Greatest MCU Battle Moment: Giving Thanos a better fight than anyone else in Infinity War, and holding the Mad Titan at bay for several minutes by himself.

How He Could Get The Upper Hand: Through the right employment of his many “tricks” in the right order, Doctor Strange could gain the advantage over anyone - especially if he chose to employ them in a deadlier fashion. Clever use of his trademark portals alone could be devastating.

Her Fighting Style: Captain Marvel possesses the rare combination of upper-echelon super-strength and significant tactical training. She’d be just as comfortable in a bar brawl as she is punching her way through spaceships.

Signature Weapon: Those photon blasts that everyone seems to forget she has - until its far too late.

Greatest MCU Battle Moment: Showing off her underrated super-durability by eating both a Thanos headbutt and a Power Stone-powered hook in quick succession - and getting up none the worse for wear.

How She Could Get The Upper Hand: Carol Danvers is tough enough to go toe-to-toe with any other contender for “MCU’s Strongest,” and she’s also smart enough to take advantage of their weaknesses and outbox them. She could win this a lot of different ways.
