Many of the elements that make history exciting are the same ones that make movies worth watching: heroism, scandal, intelligence, and tragedy. While Hollywood frequently uses past events for inspiration, there remains a good number of historical events and figures that have yet to be tapped.

Plenty of celebrities look like they've been time-traveling, but the question of who should play historical figures in biopics probes a little deeper. Similar appearances help, yes, but these historical greats deserve actors who can truly capture the small details.
