List Rules Upvote the influential people who you think should be named TIME's 2014 Person of the Year.

Last year, it was Pope Francis. Before that, Barack Obama. This year: Beyoncé? Who do you think should be TIME Magazine’s person of the year in 2014?

Each year, the honor goes to the individual who most influenced the news. (By that measure, maybe famous breaker-of-the-Internet Kim Kardashian should take home the prize.) These powerful celebrities, politicians, activists, and innovators may not have changed the world for the better, but they’ve definitely left their mark. We’ve spent much of 2014 talking about their controversial decisions, fantastic accomplishments, and buzzworthy affairs.

America’s sweetheart Taylor Swift, Apple CEO Tim Cook, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell are all on the short list. But what about the founders of Snapchat? Or hero activist Malala Yousafzai?

Who do you think was the most powerful person in the world this year? Cast your vote below and let everyone know who you would choose as the 2014 TIME Magazine person of the year.
