Women in the Bible

A list of woman in the Bible, from the Matriarchs Sarah, Rebeckah, Rachel, and Leah to the barely-mentioned queens, wives, and daughters. These Biblical women appear in tales and parables throughout the many books of the Bible, including the Torah / Old Testament and the later books of the Apostles. Many of these women - such as Eve, Mary, and Ruth - have fully fleshed personalities that have kept them in the dialog about women and the Bible over the generations. Other smaller characters are oft forgotten from the cultural narrative, or they are painted simply as helpers, handmaidens, or harlots without much dimension.
