Some of these phrases are easy to eliminate from your writing due to the fact that because there is a single actual English word that means the same thing. Just use that word instead! It's fun and also correct. Who doesn't love having fun in a very correct, normal English-sounding way?

How do you become a better writer? Well, to start, you should write about something interesting. Or even something boring as long, as the way in which you are writing is lots of fun.
