The key to making a scene with CGI successful is all about realism. The worst CGI effects in adventure films totally fail at that one key element. Many of the motion pictures on this list are actually really good, it’s just that they contain some of the worst CGI scenes in adventure movies history.
It’s hard to believe that Steven Spielberg, who is one of the most acclaimed directors in cinema, made the fourth Indiana Jones installment Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The movie is filled with fake looking and sloppy CGI. However, Indy 4 looks Oscar-worthy next to The Rock’s animation as the Scorpion King in The Mummy Returns.
