Although CGI has created some of the most terrifying villains in cinematic history, it's also created some of the most unrealistic villains in superhero films. From Eddie Brock's transformation into Venom in Spider-Man 3, to Thanos's right-hand woman, Proxima Midnight, in Avengers, the worst CGI villains in superhero movies actually distract from the rest of the film.
Although advancements in technology have allowed filmmakers to bring the best comic book stories to life on the silver screen, high definition and internet roundups have also made it even easier to study the terrible CGI characters in films years after they were first released. One of the worst offenders is Spawn's Malebolgia. For some superhero fans, watching their favorite villains fail ruins the rest of the narrative, despite any quality storytelling and direction.
