No one ever said being a parent is easy, but these parenting fails are not to be taken lightly. The bad parenting from 2018 involves atrocious actions that often require criminal proceedings. These are truly some of the worst parents ever.

Be warned: the absolute worst examples of parenting in 2018 are not for the faint of heart. This list contains descriptions of horrific abuse and heartbreak. It seems impossible that any parent could behave so viciously towards their child, but unfortunately, these types of stories are all too common. Hopefully, shedding a light on these people's terrible actions prevents future nightmares from happening.

  • Parents Possibly Force Their Baby To Get A Tattoo

    A viral video that began surfacing on Facebook in March 2018 appears to show a baby being forcibly held down while getting a tattoo. However, its authenticity has been debated as the baby does not cry during the procedure. The infant does, however, squirm and try to escape as unseen parents restrain him.

    The video is believed to be from Vietnam and has sparked a lot of online outrage. Many Facebook users are calling for the parents to be arrested and the baby to be placed with an adoptive family. 

  • This Couple Threw Hot Oil On Their Daughter For Refusing An Arranged Marriage

    On March 23, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas, Abdulah Fahmi Al Hishmaw and Hamdiyah Saha Al Hishmaw were arrested on family violence charges. According to reports, a man in another city offered the couple $20,000 for their 16 year old daughter's hand in marriage. Abdulah and Hamdiyah accepted, but the daughter refused. The couple then beat her with broomsticks and poured cooking oil on her. They told their daughter the abuse would only stop if she accepted the marriage proposal. 

    Sometime in January, the teen went missing after leaving her high school campus. The FBI got involved, launching an investigation to find the missing teen. Police located her sometime mid-March, but did not disclose her location to the public. The teen, as well as her five siblings, were then placed in Child Protective Services. 

  • This Couple Kept Their Children In A 'Filthy Desert Hovel'

    A deputy with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department made a grim discovery near Joshua Tree, CA, in late February: a couple with three children ages 11-14, living in a ramshackle hovel made of plywood and plastic sheeting. The mother, Mona Kirk, and father, Daniel Panico, had kept their children in the harsh desert environment – and in a shack without bathrooms, running water, or electricity – for around four years.

    Kirk and Panico were arrested on February 28, and charged with three counts of felony child abuse.

  • These Maryland Women Force-Fed Their Children Dog Feces

    Amanda R. Wright and her live-in girlfriend Besline Joseph were arrested on January 31 in Mardela Springs, MD. According to the police, the women's three children – ages 8, 9, and 10 – had been repeatedly beaten with extension cords, belts, and sticks, and had been assaulted with a stun gun as well. What's more, they had been force-fed dog feces on multiple occasions.

    The two women were charged with multiple offenses, including child abuse, assault, and reckless endangerment.
