Reading tea leaves, otherwise known as tasseography, is the art of telling the future based on how leaves naturally group together in your teacup. The practice has been a popular form of divination for thousands of years in China. In the 17th century, Dutch merchants brought tea, as well as this ancient Chinese practice, to Europe.
To practice this art, one has to drink tea the old-school way. That means no strainer or tidy little teabags. Pour loose leaf tea into a cup, add hot water, then let it steep. Once it's ready, drink the tea (or dump it out), cover and shake the cup, and pour out any remaining bits of liquid, making sure the bulk of the leaves stay in the cup. Now you're ready to decipher what you see in the shapes left behind and unlock a slew of accurate psychic predictions.
Some of those shapes will be more disturbing than others, so it's important to know which ones you never want to encounter.
The appearance of an aircraft, such as a plane, blimp, or balloon, isn't always negative. However, when aircraft appear toward the bottom of the cup, they denote unsuccessful projects - especially financial ones.
It's a sign you should take some time to reevaluate your life in order to avoid failure or disaster.
An arrow can be a bad omen depending on which direction it's pointing. A downward-pointing arrow indicates you're headed in the wrong direction. It could also mean you're not focused enough on the task at hand or on the goal you're trying to achieve.
Seeing an ax along the bottom portion of your teacup can mean a number of different things. It can be a sign of impending difficult interactions with family members or friends. It might also be a sign of materialism.
If the ax is pointing upward, it can denote a hyper-focus on one's own desires as opposed to the needs of others or the big-picture perspective.
A cloud in your tea leaves means something you want hasn't fully arrived yet; if it has arrived, it isn't all it seems to be. If there are dots around the cloud, trouble is in store. If the cloud is near a heart or circle, it's an indication of relationship problems.
