Drank Milk Made With Tap Water In Peru

    From Redditor u/spike31875:

When I was in Peru. I got a pretty bad case of the Peruvian version of "Montezuma's Revenge" (Atahualpa's Revenge??). It was in a college exchange program and I was living with a Peruvian family. I was cautioned against drinking tap water before I went down there and I was being careful, but it turns out that they were serving me "milk" made from canned evaporated milk & tap water: it wasn't pretty.

Ended Up At The ER On A Road Trip In The USA

    From Redditor u/mcjunker:

On a family road trip, I once ate at a Taco Bell somewhere just west of Four Corners (where Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado come together).

The food was greasy but delicious.

8 hours later in our note room, I got laid out with a 103-degree fever. My mom panicked (us being a state or two away from home) and took me to the ER.

While I was woozily answering the nurse’s questions (I have no memory between me sweating out a few pints in the motel and me sitting in the ER, it was like teleportation for me), I got nauseous and asked for a bag. I then puked up ALL of the taco meat from lunch.

None of it had been digested even a little bit. Looked the same coming out as it did going in.

The fever broke at that exact moment and we went back to the motel having learned a valuable lesson about Taco Bell on the road.

Ordered Clam Chowder Before Hopping On A Flight To The Bahamas

    From Redditor u/Tennessean:

My family ate at a Red Lobster on the way to Green Turtle Cay in the Bahamas. I got clam chowder. I barely held it together on the little plane ride over and had to yak on the radar tower right in front of customs. I thought I was going to poop myself. I was miserable for 2 days on a boat.

Still ate some lobster and conch after that though.

Didn't Cook Their Meat Thoroughly During A Chinese Hot Pot Dinner

    From Redditor u/musea00:

One time my mom and I were treated to a lovely hot pot dinner in China by an aunt's friend.

We all had individual hot pot stoves. Prevents food tainting, right? Well, not so much.

Apparently, at some point, I probably forgot to cook my meat thoroughly. Before the end of the dinner, I was already feeling a bit unsettled. This was made worse by some deep-fried dessert fritters. Same woes befell my mom as well.

When we got back to the hotel, I immediately threw up. And then had a bad case of diarrhea. My mom and I soon spent the night taking turns emptying out from both ends. Even though we stayed at a very nice hotel, we really didn't get to enjoy the comfort.

The Ice In Piña Coladas Ruined A Mexican Cruise

    From Redditor u/redskull6813:

Oh god, it was awful. My family and I went on a cruise to Mexico. We went to a 5-star resort and it was nice so we had pina Coladas and we went back to the boat and had dinner. My brother was a little sick but we just thought he ate too much. The next day we stopped at another place and my dad was also sick but we didn't think anything of it. So I and my mom went to have a look at the port and I was feeling a little sick so I headed back to the boat, when my mom got back she was also starting to not feel good so we went down to the medical bay but on the way, my mom started throwing up in front of staff. We got to the medical bay and I was alone in a room until my dad got there it was 5 minutes but it felt like hours. We all got medicine and were quarantined for a full day. The ice in the Piña Coladas got us.

Ate Nothing But Gyros For Five Days In Greece And Things Got Bad

    From a former Redditor:

Idk what it was but on the last day of my Greek cruise, I got a nasty case of diarrhea. My gut was probably just sick of eating Gyros for five days straight.
