Handsome young Anthony Hopkins pictures include photos from his toddler and childhood years and several from his earliest roles in film during the 1960s. Ever watch one of his many brilliant film performances and wonder, 'what did Anthony Hopkins look like when he was young?' This slideshow of young Anthony Hopkins photos are here to show just that.
Born on December 31, 1937, in Margam, Port Talbot, Wales, Anthony Hopkins showed a brilliant creative streak when he was very young. He discovered his skills as a painter and pianist at a young age. Due to his overall lack of enthusiasm in his studies, his parents enrolled him at Jones' West Monmouth Boys' School, where he studied for five semesters before transferring to Cowbridge Grammar School. He graduated in 1957 from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff and completed his national service in the British Army. He then moved to London and attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
Hopkins went on to perform in several on-stage productions and was spotted by Laurence Olivier, who invited him to join the Royal National Theatre. He became Olivier’s understudy and received his breakout role in the 1968 film The Lion in Winter opposite Katharine Hepburn. His most notable roles were in the films The Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, Red Dragon, Meet Joe Black, The Mask of Zorro, The Bounty, The Elephant Man, Legend of the Falls, Thor, Nixon, The Remains of the Day and Amistad, to name a few.But long before he became the chilling Hannibal Lecter, Anthony Hopkins was a little boy in England. So the next time you're watching Silence of the Lambs and are terrified by his character, remember, he was once just an innocent little boy as proven by these photos.
