These fifteen photos feature a young Ed Harris, including a picture of him as a kid, his high school yearbook photo, and photos from his earliest movie roles in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Born on November 28, 1950 in Englewood, New Jersey, he was raised in a middle-class Presbyterian family. He was the captain for his high school’s football team and graduated in 1969, and Columbia University gave him a football scholarship. It was during his early college life that he discovered and began taking an interest in acting, particularly in the theater arena. He relocated to the University of Oklahoma and began to study drama. After successfully starring in several theater productions, he transferred to the California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles, and graduated with a BFA. His earliest movie roles were in Borderline, Knightriders and The Right Stuff. His most famous roles were in Apollo 13, Gone Baby Gone, The Hours, A History of Violence, Copying Beethoven and Game Change. Enjoy checking out these photos of young Ed Harris.
