This gallery features pictures of a very young Josh Hutcherson, many of which focus on his childhood in the late 1990s. Born on October 12, 1992 in Union, Kentucky, his mom was a Delta Air Lines employee and his dad works with the United States Environmental Protection Agency. His interest in acting developed when he was a kid, even though his parents had mixed feelings about the entertainment industry. When he was only 8 years old, he began looking through the yellow pages in an attempt to find an acting agency. He met acting coach Bob Luke in January 2002, who encouraged his mom to take him to Los Angeles and start auditioning for TV pilots. He and his mom lived in a housing community called Los Angeles’ Oakwood apartments, which specifically accommodates child actors and their families. His career began at the age of 9 and his mom started homeschooling him. He has starred in the movies The Polar Express, Bridge to Terabithia, Howl’s Moving Castle, Journey to the Center of the Earth, and The Kids are All Right. He is best known for his role as Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games film series. Enjoy checking out these photos of young Josh Hutcherson.
