This gallery features photos of handsome, young, LeBron James, including a baby photo, pictures from his childhood and teenager years, as well as into his 20’s when he was recruited for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the early 2000s. Born on December 30, 1984 in Akron, Ohio, James was raised by his 16-year-old single mother. She struggled to find a steady job, forcing them have to move from apartment to apartment when he was a child. Due to her concern about her son’s stability, his mother allowed him to move in with a youth football coach, who introduced him to both football and basketball at the age of nine. As a youth, LeBron played Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball for the Northeast Ohio Shooting Stars, alongside his four best friends. The group dubbed themselves the “Fab Four” and vowed that they would go to the same high school. They kept their promise, and in a daring move they attended St. Vincent–St. Mary High School, a private school where most of the students were white. His success in high school basketball drew attention, and the Cavaliers picked him first in the 2003 NBA draft. During his first game, he set an NBA record for most points scored by a prep-to-pro player, scoring 25 points against the Sacramento Kings. Enjoy these photos of LeBron James when he was young.
