Sidney Moncrief

Sidney Alvin Moncrief (born September 21, 1957) is an American retired professional basketball player. As an NCAA college basketball player from 1975 to 1979, Moncrief played for the University of Arkansas Razorbacks, leading them to the 1978 Final Four and a win in the NCAA Consolation Game versus #6 Notre Dame. Nicknamed Sid the Squid, Sir Sid, and El Sid, Moncrief went on to play 11 seasons in the National Basketball Association, including ten seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks. He was a five-time NBA All-Star and won the first two NBA Defensive Player of the Year awards in 1983 and 1984.

Since 1959, over 150 people have been inducted into the hall during their annual ceremonies each fall.

In order to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, a player must be fully retired for at least five years and earn their induction based on voting by a committee. Each year, those who are nominated and receive 75% or more of the votes can be inducted, though the Hall&#39;s Board of Trustees does have a final veto. Because of those guidelines, over the years many have been snubbed from induction.

Arguably some of the <a href="http://www.ranker.com/crowdranked-list/the-top-nba-players-of-all-time" target="_blank">best NBA players of all time</a> have not been inducted for one reason or another. Sidney Moncrief, George McGinnis, Marques Johnson and Max Zaslofsky are just a few of those names.
