In 2013, I spent four days in a psychiatric hospital unit on an involuntary hold where I discovered what it&#39;s really like inside a psych ward. Despite my fears of a full-blown Girl, Interrupted experience, I realized what I saw on TV was not&nbsp;quite how real-life psych wards work.&nbsp;

In the mid-1900s, psychiatric institutions were a free-for-all place to lock up anyone with any kind of problem that wasn&#39;t understood. These very depressing and inhumane places provided the inspiration for the Hollywood&nbsp;horror movie&nbsp;versions of mental institutions. However,&nbsp;starting in the &#39;60s, the process of deinstitutionalization&nbsp;reformed the systems surrounding mental health. Facilities became less isolated, released more patients, kept stays shorter, and worked to keep admission rates lower.

Still, time spent in a psych ward isn&#39;t exactly a day at the park. I have pieced together my own story with those of other patients and the research of various psychiatric professionals to create&nbsp;the following list. It paints a more accurate picture of what it&#39;s like in a psych facility than what you&nbsp;see in the movies.&nbsp;

Ok, so Arnold Schwarzenegger is kind of a joke of his former glory anymore, but back in the day, Arnold was the biggest action star ever! Even if he wants to spoil his legacy by co-starring in action films with Johnny Knoxville (how did he possibly fail to make the list of the best action stars??), he was the Terminator, man. All the rest of these guys (and ladies) are the best of action movies. From being tough enough to walk on broken glass (Bruce Willis) to being able to do the splits in any situation and make it look like that's just the kind of thing people do in everyday life (Jean Claude van Damme, you are a splits master), these are the greatest action stars ever to grace the big screen.

Some of the best films ever had a Native American theme and this is my list of the best of those. Obviously people will know Dances With Wolves and The Last of the Mohicans, but there are some other gems in the bunch like A Man Called Horse and Billy Jack that newer generations might not have had the pleasure of seeing yet. These aren&#39;t necessarily movies about incest, but movies where incest has come up in one of the relationships depicted in the movie. Currently the practice of incest is banned in almost all civilized countries, with punishments in some being worse than others. Though some cultures encourage the practice among cousins, the societal norm is blood relation means no invitation... for the making of the sex, that is (I apologize ahead of time).

Now, while these aren&#39;t incest movies (or incest films), they do happen to have overtly incestuous themes and scenes. Sometimes the incest is played out like a joke, but most of the time it is in an uncomfortable way. Whether it was for revenge, love, or just because they were ignorant of their connections, the incest in these movies is usually hotter than it should be.
