Most people have seen King&nbsp;Tut&#39;s singularly awesome golden chariot, but they probably haven&#39;t seen the&nbsp;145 loincloths, 12 tunics, 10 belts, two&nbsp;leopard skins, 28 gloves, 24 shawls, 15 sashes, 25 head coverings, two&nbsp;aprons, four&nbsp;socks, and 47 pairs of shoes he was buried with. In the early &#39;90s, textile archeologist Dr. Gillian Vogelsang-Eastwood rediscovered <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/1995/07/25/science/forgotten-riches-of-king-tut-his-wardrobe.html?pagewanted=all" target="_blank">Tut&#39;s ancient Egyptian clothing</a> in the Cairo Museum, and most of it was in the same boxes where&nbsp;Howard Carter, its discoverer, placed it&nbsp;back in&nbsp;1922. One box even had&nbsp;a copy of The Egyptian Gazette dated six weeks after the tomb&#39;s discovery.

Many of the textiles were so deteriorated that their&nbsp;<a href="http://en.vävmagasinet.se/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Tutankhamun_english.pdf" target="_blank">original colors and patterns</a> could only be seen through a high-powered camera lens. Alarmed by their rapid deterioration, Dr. Vogelsang-Eastwood organized two teams of international experts to reproduce 36 of Tut&#39;s garments using ancient methods. The Weaving School in Bor&aring;s, Sweden, produced the linen cloth, while all embroidery, printing, and beadwork was completed at the Stitching Textile Research Centre in Leiden, Netherlands.
